Isobloc’s president built AI agents tailored to Québec’s construction industry
In Mascouche, Eric Dionne built five artificial intelligence agents to support his startup. Our team then helped him set out a method and a roadmap to develop these tools and prepare them for wider use.
- 5AI agents built by the company’s president
- $60,000+estimated annual savings across commercial activities
- 1 eveningto prepare a cash flow forecast that used to take a month
Preparing a quote for masonry blocks means calculating quantities, accounting for corner blocks, and factoring in pallets and accessories. At Isobloc, these business rules now guide an AI agent that prepares quotes in the company’s management system. Eric Dionne reviews each quote before it is sent.
The estimator is one of five agents the president built with Claude, by Anthropic. From finding business opportunities to forecasting cash flow, he has gradually brought AI into several functions at his company, which designs and manufactures insulated masonry blocks in Québec.
“If I hadn’t done this work with artificial intelligence, I wouldn’t be where I am today.”
The founder’s expertise at the heart of the tools
Eric built his agents one at a time, based on Isobloc’s needs. Each one handles a specific activity and draws on the company’s information and ways of working.
- 01
Tender monitoring
Finds projects and companies to approach, then feeds them into the CRM.
- 02
Prospecting
Reviews business opportunities and drafts personalized follow-ups.
- 03
Estimator
Applies calculation rules specific to Isobloc’s products to prepare quotes.
- 04
Payment protection
Helps prepare documents that protect the company’s right to be paid, and tracks project deadlines.
- 05
Virtual CFO
Works on a 13-week cash flow horizon and prepares projections to support the president’s decisions.
Eric remains responsible for the decisions and the reviews built into these processes.
Results in day-to-day operations
Eric estimates annual savings of more than $60,000 across commercial activities since putting his agents in place. He also reports preparing cash flow forecasts in a single evening, an exercise that used to stretch over a month.
The work also reaches customers. Isobloc redesigned its website and gathered its product data sheets, installation guides and design documents into a technical library for construction professionals. The website, incoming requests and the CRM now feed the same business development effort.
An internal inventory dated July 15, 2026 recorded nearly 2,500 document access permissions granted for this library, more than 2,000 of which had been used at least once. Permissions are counted separately for each document and each person.
Planning the next stage
Eric asked our team to assess the tools he had built and decide how to develop them further. Our developers and architects, certified by Anthropic, mapped the five agents, analyzed how they worked, and set development and governance priorities.
The engagement produced an assessment, technical recommendations and a roadmap: organizing knowledge by function, documenting processes, defining usage rules and planning connections to the company’s systems. It gives Eric a framework for choosing the next improvements and preparing them for wider use.
Eric wants to stay directly involved in designing his tools, so the approach is collaborative and lets him build his skills as the project progresses. The next stage combines his industry knowledge with our technical expertise.
